Join Tasha Tuesday 11:00 am to 12:15 pm Level 1-2 for her Gentle Flow series inspired by P. Jois, Iyengar, Shiva Rea and Sivananda. This class will gently awaken your body and spirit with breath and movement while refreshing your awareness on how to still the mind with guided meditation. Tuesday 5:30 pm to 5:45 pm. Deana’s class is a taste of many aspects of yoga including asana (postures), pranayama (breathing),  yoga nidra (deep relaxation and meditation).  By guiding you through the concepts of the chakras and applying them to practice you will learn a comprehensive and effective way to practice yoga as well as take care of yourself.  Level 1

As an instructor, Cooper draws on her daily hatha yoga practice. The most exciting moment as a teacher is guiding people to explore the hidden depths of their personal strength, intention and focus while maintaining contact with their own inner teacher. The absolute joy expressed on students faces when they are able to dismantle a previously perceived limitation is fuel for the teacher.  

Wednesday 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm. Just what it says, begin or begin again. This is a gentle class designed to familiarize you with the classical practice of hatha yoga. Learn to steady the mind by steadying the breath. This class is designed for all levels and all body types. Start, re-start or deepen your practice. This is a great class for anyone curious about yoga as well as for anyone interested in enhancing his/her current yoga practice. All Levels.

Saturday 9:00 am to 10:15 am. Get your weekend started with this slower paced, all-rounder class designed to teach you the basics of the postures.  The class is suitable for beginners and those wishing to understand fundamentals more thoroughly. Cooper and Robin alternate teaching.  All levels.

Casey Scott

Casey’s yoga classes tend to be relatively slow paced and contemplative, with an emphasis on meditation and Mind/ Breath/ Body unification.

Monday 6:15 -7:15 pm.  This class focuses on the inward journey, following the landmarks of calm breath, relaxation of effort, and comfort and ease in postures. explore some of the classical yoga postures with casey scott.  Great class for anyone curious about yoga as well as one who wants to enhance their current practice.  Yoga as a preparation for meditation.  Level 1

Robin Workman

Becoming fit is not just about the physical body but also becoming fit in the mind and spirit. This is what Yoga offers to me. The postures open the door to really good stuff housed in the head. Each time I step on the mat it’s an opportunity to find wholeness. To erase my palette and begin again. My classes are about alignment, and breath and space. A place for each person to find those things in themselves to possibly deepen their self knowledge and maybe see the destination is not the goal, it’s all about the journey. 

Wednesday 4:30 pm to 5:45 pm.  Teresa Franklin

Teresa Franklin is a native resident of Clarkesville. She has been a certified T’ai Chi Chih instructor since June 2016, and has been teaching at A Garden for Wellness since July 2016. Teresa enjoys hiking, singing, yoga, spending time with family, and learning new things.

Tuesday 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. T’ai Chi Chih.  A series of 19 movements and 1 pose that together make up a meditative form of movement to which practitioners attribute physical, personal and spiritual health benefits. It’s focus is on circulating, developing and balancing chi.


Melissa Martin

My name is Melissa L. Martin. I am originally from Mineral Bluff, GA, located in Fannin County. I moved to Habersham County, Georgia in May 2006 with my husband and two children and we now reside in Clarkesville, GA. I started taking Zumba classes around five  years ago and fell in love with Zumba Fitness. I got my certification to teach Zumba and Kids and Kids Jr Zumba Fitness in April 2017. I love that I get to share my passion with others as I teach and that I get to help others reach and achieve their fitness goals.

Friday 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  ZUMBA® is a fusion of Latin and International music / dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, and based on the principle that a workout should be “FUN AND EASY TO DO.” The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

Cindy Dennis is a retired teacher who learned about Qigong through A Garden for Wellness. After participating in two different groups over five years, she decided to earn a Level I certification to teach. Look for her class to begin in March.
